By Linda Reeves Like a great game of poker, knowing when to Hold Em and when to Fold Em is a great phenomenon to some of us. Our lives and loves are much like a game of poker, you start out with a full pot and slowly over time the rewards either multiply or diminish. The choice to Hold Em or Fold Em is a choice that cannot be made without analyzing the long term effects. Granted, love is not a game of poker, but relationships, like any game of chance is a risk, if you dont initially take the risk/chance you will have missed out on some of the greatest feelings and experiences of your life. The course of a relationship is pretty standard to everyone; when you first meet, you experience the euphoria and the excitement of the unknown, moving into the friendship mode discovering this persons inner being and everything that made them who they are today. Onward we move to the intimate realm of our being, sharing everything about and of ourselves. Exposing our fantasies and deepest desires leaving our hearts totally vulnerable. This exposure is not without its rewards, it draws us closer together and reveals great insight into life with this person. However, we must be acutely aware of this persons ideals and goals in life and how they relate to our own. What are you willing to compromise, forfeit or share to create a loving lasting relationship? Things to think about. Like a high stakes poker game, you have a lot to lose, maybe not materially, but emotionally there is a great price to pay if you lose the game. Knowing how to spot the obvious and take action will protect your heart. Granted, we never want to admit or believe that someone could love us today and not want to be with us anymore tomorrow, but it happens everyday all over the world to millions of people. Keep your eyes open, are they spending less time with you, are the calls less frequent, do they seem too busy do something else all the time, have the emails stopped, spending more time with their friends than you. These are signs ..read them! There could be an explanation for their behavior, dont jump to conclusions, take the time to talk to them, find out what they are thinking, feeling and discern if it is time to Hold Em or Fold Em. If it is time to fold, do it with dignity. To you men, stand up, be a respectable man and tells us what is wrong and can or can it not be fixed, dont clam up on us, we as women need an explanation, some sort of reasoning for what happened to let go and move on. Women, crying will make you feel better, but doubtful that it will change how anyone feels at the moment and most of all do not call them constantly begging them to come back. As clich as it sounds If you love something, set it free, if it comes back it is yours forever. Be honest about what went wrong and why you feel the need to break away. A great as it may seem, whatever mistakes the other person made with you cannot and will not be realized or corrected if they are unaware of their actions. Myself, I have a very strong personality and tend to be somewhat bossy and over bearing at times, and had I not been told that I would have continued to sabotage every relationship by trying to control everything about it. I now know that I have to share that control and allow the man to be the man, we are sharing a life together and to survive in a relationship one has to let go of I, my, me, mine and look at things from a us, we, our, both perspective. On the flip side, things happen that are sometimes beyond ones control that takes them away from you, again discussion is the key. In such case, any problems or feelings can be clarified and you can resolve any impending issues. Knowing that whatever occurred can be resolved amicably between both parties, and the willingness to forgive and work towards talking more and being more open tells you to Hold Em. No amount of words will give you the insight to make the decision to Hold Em or Fold Em, that choice is made by knowing what you want out of life and your relationships. No one can answer those questions for you, it is up to you to look inside the box as well as outside the box and choose whichever is best for you and your future. Never ever, walk away before giving a relationship a chance, regret is the worst of all emotions, resolve to live your life in the I Have, I Did, I Will mode and not the Coulda, Woulda, Shoulda , your life will be much richer and fulfilling in the end. Deal the Cards... let them fall as they may. Linda Reeves is a 47 year old advice columnist who writes for Cupids Blackbook.

Are You Wasting Time and Money Marketing to the Wrong People?
By Jane Hendry One of the biggest mistakes I see consultants, coaches and professionals make is to be unclear about who their ideal client is, and to carry out their marketing without any specific definition of their target market. In fact, most are hedging their bets and trying to appeal to everybody. Intuitively, this seems the right way to go. We might presume that the more people you can appeal to, the more likely you are to get business. Its the law of large numbers - if you throw enough darts at the board, then eventually youll hit the bullseye. However, this approach has a number of drawbacks. First, when you try to please everybody, you end up pleasing nobody. Your marketing message will be bland and, quite likely, meaningless to everyone that is exposed to it. Secondly, trying to market to an undefined group of people is extremely hard work and involves a lot of wasted energy and expense. How will you know where to place your ads, who to send direct mail to, where to network, who to call or who you want to attract to your website? Thirdly, if you dont specialise in any way, then youll never build up specific expertise in any particular area or get paid the premium that specialists get paid. So, if you havent already, I suggest that you define your precise target market and start building up a profile of the ideal client. Who is NOT an ideal client? For a lot of people, who they think is their ideal client and who genuinely is an ideal client may be worlds apart. Heres a list of types of businesses or consumers you probably dont want to target: Price-shoppers: People who are shopping on price are very, very rarely your ideal client. Unless you have a business model that allows you to somehow mass produce services and leverage your time, then youll never create your dream lifestyle or large pension fund working for price shoppers. My experience, and that of thousands of other service providers, is that cheapskate clients are often more demanding, take up more of your precious time and cause more headaches than clients who are looking for a premium service. People who you think need your services: Virtually every small business I come across could use my know-how and expertise to improve their marketing. I could surmise that they need what I have to offer. However, there is an abundance of research that shows that people rarely buy what they need, but nearly always buy what they want (finances permitting). This is a critical distinction. You may be meeting people all the time who you feel need what you provide, but until such time as they actually want it, theyre unlikely to buy, and therefore your time spent marketing to them and building the relationship is largely wasted. People who cant comfortably afford your services: You may meet people who both need and want your services, but if they cant comfortably afford them, then its going to be an uphill battle proving the value of what you do and why they should invest. If they do decide to buy your services then they may also become problem child clients. Sometimes you will get business from people who cant comfortably afford your services, but to actively target them and to spend too much time wooing them is likely a false economy. Your marketing efforts and resources will be better spent when aimed at a market that can easily afford you. This market will also perceive less risk in hiring you, as they can more easily rationalise the purchase to themselves. People who dont see you as credible: 20th century marketing has taught most of us to be sceptical. Because people have made bad purchasing decisions in the past, and sometimes been outright ripped off, theyre wary of how they spend their money and who they spend it with. This is true whether theyre a corporate buyer (they dont want to lose face or lose their job) or a consumer. Theyll look to minimise their risks, and the easiest way of doing that is by buying from someone they trust who has a substantial amount of credibility. This goes hand in hand with positioning yourself as a specialist and expert in your field - high end clients who are willing to pay high fees will want reassurance that you can produce the results you claim to produce. People who dont truly want change: As a service provider, its highly likely that what you do involves some kind of change on the part of your clients. If youre a consultant or coach, then your clients will probably have to change what they do or how they think in order to implement the strategies, tools and techniques that you advise them to use. If youre a professional, then they may need to change how they do their accounting, how their website works, their visual identity or their contracts in order to benefit from the improvements you provide. If you find yourself speaking to people who show all the signs of resisting change, then move on! They may pay lip service to wanting improved results, but if they dont seem prepared to actually make changes and move with the times, then theyre probably not a good client. What are the criteria for defining your perfect client? When you come to defining your target market and ideal client, here are the factors to consider: * Whos prepared to pay a premium for the outcome you provide?
* Who wants what you offer, rather than who needs what you offer?
* Who can comfortably afford your services?
* Who trusts you and sees you as credible?
* Whos willing to embrace the change you represent? And finally, one last distinction - and this may be the most important one. Youll build your own success more rapidly when you spend your time marketing to businesses and people who are already successful but want to move to the next level, than if you target businesses or people who are struggling. This may seem counter-intuitive. After all, arent those who are struggling the ones who most need your help? Yes, they probably do need your help the most. However, if they dont want it, or arent prepared to pay for it, then youre wasting your time and money marketing to them. Not only that, but the people and businesses that need your help because theyre in a mess probably got into their predicament by being short-sighted and not wanting to invest in professional help at the appropriate time. This points to them not having a success mindset or wanting to implement change, which means that not only will it be a harder sale, but theyre less likely to implement the changes you advise in order to become good success stories for you. And at the end of the day, if you want to build a successful business, it pays to surround yourself with successful people, especially your clients! Here are some examples of these principles in action: 1. The desperate prospect I spoke to one potential client, who was on the brink of bankruptcy, who wanted me to help him with some marketing materials. I thought his business model was basically flawed and therefore hed probably never see a good return on his investment in my services within the brief hed given me. It was unlikely that hed want to pay my fees, and I couldnt guarantee him a result in the kind of time frame he needed to prevent the bankruptcy. I decided not to take the conversation any further on the basis that I didnt want his money if it might become a contributing factor to his bankruptcy and because I wasnt convinced that he was heading in the right direction. Although he wanted what I was offering, I didnt think he could comfortably afford my services or get the returns he needed in such a tight timeframe. 2. The sceptical prospect I had a conversation with a potential client who seemed to have some good services, but was struggling to sell them. He really needed marketing help because he was running all over town (quite literally) presenting proposals to people who werent buying and was struggling to make his business model work. I suggested a number of changes and actions he could take, but he resisted each and every one. Not long into the conversation I felt my energy drop and a sense of despair overwhelm me. This is usually a really bad sign! This guy sells services that could really help a lot of people, but his depressed attitude and resistance to every thing I said meant that he was never likely to become wildly successful or build the exit strategy he wanted. Not only that, but he claimed that hed heard it all before! This begs the question so why didnt you act on it the first time you heard it? This prospect needed what I was offering, but didnt want it. He didnt have a success mindset, and was therefore unlikely to ever really appreciate the value of the change I was offering him. 3. The optimistic client Stefan recognised his own limitations when it came to marketing. He knew in his heart that he had a good product and service, but was struggling to get his message out to the right people and in the right way. Although he had regular work coming in from a few reliable sources, he recognised the need to shore up his foundations by reaching more people and consistently bringing in new client from other efforts. Stefan signed up for my Client Attraction Blueprint programme right away, and set about doing the exercises and taking on board the advice I offered him. He is now reaping the rewards through having a marketing plan that works for him and a much clearer idea of who he should be targeting, and where he should expend his marketing efforts, time and money. Stefan wanted what I was offering. He was open to change, and happy to be directed. Although he didnt fit the criterion of easily affording my services, he was prepared to invest in them anyway because he saw the long term advantages. What about you? Are you targeting the people who trust you, see you as credible, who want what you offer and are willing to pay to gain the benefits of your solution? Are you positioning yourself as an expert and working to attract other like-minded and successful people to your business, or are you struggling to sell your services to a sceptical and reluctant market? Could you take your business to the next level by clearly defining the ideal client and then ensuring that all of your marketing efforts, particularly your message, are tailored to the wants and aspirations of that market? Following the Building Codes - Deck Railings
By Andrew Caxton Building codes were made to help protect the homeowner, a home purchaser, and any visitors from getting hurt. Deck railings are bound by building codes as well, including the railings height, the distance between balusters, and other details. In Loudon County, Virginia, we find our first deck railing code example. The Virginia Uniform Statewide Building Code must be complied with for any building build in the county. This building code is available for free on the internet and offers many different codes for you to peruse. This building code details the rules for building, including and requirements that are structural, plumbing, mechanical issues, fire codes, and any deck regulations that they may have. This building code will give you guidance on following the law in Virginia. A review of your plans and permits by The Department of Building and Development will let you know if you are complying with the code to ensure that there are no problems further down the road. There are different building codes all around the country, so it is important to check with your local areas building department to find the building codes for your area. You will want to check into the zoning requirement for the area where you live in addition to the building codes. You will also want to get the requirements from the health department. A building permit is a necessity in most areas of the country, too. Some building codes will only allow decks that are a single level and some codes will dictate the size of the joist overhangs. Some building codes will also dictate the additions of hot tubs, roofs, screened porches, or gazebos, as well. You need to determine what the building codes are for your area to make sure that you do not waste your time or money. You may find that the building codes in your area will cause design problems for your deck. If your deck railing has to be a certain height, then you may find that your view is obstructed. The bad this is that this is the law and if you break the law, then you will have to pay the consequences, including fines and court visits. If you really have an issue with the building code, then you will have to find a way to make it work for you-instead of against you. The codes are to keep you safe, but that doesnt mean that you cannot make it more workable for you by choosing different materials or a different design. You only have to be willing to put in the extra time, effort, and research that is may take to get the job done right. Bachelor Party Planning Basics
By Samantha Taylor So youve been tasked with planning a bachelor party for your old friend. Well, youve come to the right place! We all have some idea what goes on at bachelor parties, but there are a few things to consider if you are planning one. You must think about your venue. Ideally, you are going to want some relative privacy. A vacation home or chalet is ideal, as it is private and comfortable. A hotel suite is also a good choice. A private room at a restaurant or night club can also work very well. All in all, your venue might well be determined by the activities you have planned. Transportation to and from the venue is another thing to consider. You want to be sure that none of the guests are going to be driving. We all know that incredible amounts of alcohol will be consumed that night, so plan ahead. You are going to want designated drivers. The challenge will be to find guests that are not going to party. Another possibility is to rent a limousine. Why not ride in style for the night? Entertainment is the next aspect to consider. Now every party is going to be different, so why not let the interests of the groom dictate the entertainment? If he is a big sports fan, consider renting a private box for his favorite game. If the groom is interested in cards, organize a poker tournament. And if he is interested in drunken debauchery, well, you know what to do. Bachelor parties have certainly evolved over the years. At one time, they were gentlemanly black-tie affairs hosted by the father-in-law or best man. It was a chance for the men to get to know one another. In modern times, they have evolved (devolved?) into nights of drunken madness often involving exotic dancers. Many modern grooms-to-be are responsible and respectable young men, who dont wish to do anything that might taint their forthcoming marriage. Marriage is a very special and important time in the lives of the bride and groom. If you are planning your buddys bachelor party, try to be thoughtful and considerate of his situation. Perhaps, he is only too eager to leave the strippers and drunken high jinks behind. Maybe he just wants to grow up! Samantha Taylor is dreading her fiances bachelor party. When she is not planning her own wedding, she writes freelance articles for http://www.yourwedding101.com a wedding planning guide for brides-to-be featuring information on unique wedding cakes, wedding songs, rehearsal dinners and more. Cheap Car Loan UK: Enabling You to Get New Set of Wheels
By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Amanda_Pane]Amanda Pane Cheap car loans can prove to be very helpful in case you are short of funds for acquiring a car of your choice. Cheap car loan UK not only can be availed at low rates of interest but also provide you longer repayment period along with smaller instalments. Cheap car loan is easily available in the financial market. When availing a car loan, usually the car itself serves as collateral and the lender, therefore, offers you a low rate of interest. Being a secured type of loan, the benefits that the borrower gets include low rate of interest, longer repayment period and smaller instalments. Car loans allow you to acquire a car of your choice and you can repay the loan amount in easy instalments. But, you should make it sure that you repay your instalments well in time; otherwise, the lender may repossess your favourite car. It is not as if all the car loans are secured loans. You can also avail unsecured car loans but the rate of interest in that case will be little higher as compared to the secured car loans. Car loan approval doesnt consume much time especially if you have a good credit record. Even if you are suffering from adverse credit, you can still avail bad credit car loans. To get cheap car loan uk, you may surf some financial websites and request online quotes. Compare those quotes and choose the best car loan that suits your individual situation. Choosing The Right Water Feature for Your Garden
By Steve Snedeker Choosing the right water feature for your garden can be a real challenge. There are as many types of water features as there are techniques for installing and servicing. This article will deal with a few examples of water features, per se, to acquaint us with the wide and surprising array of possibilities for installing water in our gardens and landscapes. The Waterfall Waterfalls delight the senses in so many ways. The motion itself tends to lead to fascination as we admire the coursing of water over a falls, catching sunlight and looking so fresh and natural. The sounds of the splashing water as it drops delights by soothing, a somehow powerful sound which overcomes and demands attention. Waterfalls seem to close off the outer world, fascinating humans since time immemorial. These water features remain focal points in many of the most exotic gardens and cityscapes in the world, providing places of congregation and repose. And, hey, if kids love them, they have to be cool.
An underestimated benefit, as well, of waterfalls is their night time possibilities. Modern lighting techniques can spotlight cascades of water by illuminating from under the falls themselves as well as from outside them. Creeks Many waterfalls lead into small creeks, coursing through some property most enjoyably, a construct of Nature and man providing more liquid motion to delight the eye and senses. There is no accident that perhaps the most famous residence in the world, Frank Lloyd Wright's "Falling Water" is built over a stream, intimately connected with running and falling water and the sounds and sights therein. The same attributes supplied by waterfalls and listed above pertain to this unique water feature. The sound is effective and can be induced to course through areas to change the sound environment. Water's piercing sound qualities are quite amazing, really. Water's sound is penetrating and a little can go a long way. Thus creeks themselves, if long enough, can literally change the audial environment substantially. Bubble Rocks Bubble rocks are rocks which have been bored through, length-wise, providing a channel for a small pump to allow water to bubble out from the top and thus coat the rock in water. These also provide the sound of tricking water and can be used in incredibly small spaces. They also take lighting most admirably. The range of rocks one can do this with is literally limitless. There are places one can get any rock bored, usually costing about $50 a linear, bored foot, depending on the size of the hole. Their virtue is in the fact that they do not need a lot of room. Enough for a small basin to hold water and a pump. Ponds Ponds can be from 8 feet across to lake size. Ponds offer yet another marvelous quality in a landscape or garden: absolute serene water. Inside the pond, there is a range of possibillity that boggles the mind, from fishes to plants, from decorative bottoms to decks built to shimmer an inch or two above the water. Ponds need space, naturally, thus they are not really an urban choice. Generally, ponds have algae issues much more severe than those encounted by rapidly-moving water features and it is always something to consider. Many folks aerate their water by using any number of fountaining gizmos to send the water skyward. This really helps a pond's ecology, especially inasmuch as the aeration provides excellent amounts of oxygen for what lies below. Formal Features These are constructions of cement and more formal style. They can be hard-lined, sparsely severe-looking edifices which supply the smoothest of cascades, virtual "sheets" of water, falling into almost endless types of basins and pools. These are every bit as satisfying as the more naturalistic waterfalls, creeks and ponds and are also subject to astounding lighting effects. As well, formal water features include those cool little basins mounted on walls, a particular delight at an entryway or even inside a home. The art applied here can be amazing, using items like stone, copper, brass, steel to form illusions and literal artworks. There is, as one can see, no limit in the ability to transform something as simple as the use of water itself into some awe-inspiring human construct. Need help with your water feature? An underestimated benefit, as well, of waterfalls is their night time possibilities. 10 Signs Of Cheating-Is Your Spouse Unfaithful
By Tim Denio If you're suspicious of your spouse cheating on you, the first step you can take is look for the common signs of infidelity. While they may not be conclusive, you are sure to get a clue in the right direction. Although there are several observations you can make in your partner, below is a list of the 10 most common signs your husband or wife maybe cheating on you. Do you see any changes between the sheets? - A common misconception that many have is that if their partner is cheating, they will be not want to have sex with you. This is simply not true. Some of the changes that should alert you, are decreased interest in sex, increased interest, more aggressive in bed and probably the biggest red flag being him or her wanting to try new sexual positions. Can you "sniff" out infidelity? - Pay attention when your spouse comes home smelling of a perfume other than his or her own; or any other smell, like tobacco etc which are clearly not their own. Does it "ring" foul play? - In our day and age no affair can last without communication on the phone. Look out for sudden changes in the pattern of phone behavior, whether it's the sudden need for a new cell phone, mysterious calls at unexpected times. You may notice your partner getting nervous when receiving certain phone calls...needing to go out of the room to answer a call etc. Look for the paper trail - When one has an affair more often than not the expenses to support their hidden cheating life comes with more expenses. Watch out for unknown expenses on credit bills or receipts left in his/her pockets. Mood swings - Has your other half started to display erratic mood swings. Apparently needs more "space for themselves". They become more hostile and argumentative. Where are they? - Is your spouse suddenly going off on lengthy errands? You notice they have recently picked up "hobbies" or are spending a lot more time with friends. Making a lot of excuses for abrupt changes in their routine. Don't I look good? - Is your boyfriend or girlfriend paying more attention than usual to their appearance than before. Are they all of a sudden going on a fitness regime? This is a very common sign of a cheater! What's that mark? - Pay close attention to your partner when they are changing their clothes....do you spot any bit marks or scratches or any other unexplained marks on their body. You don't have access - While they may have been very open and casual about access to their email etc...now you're restricted with what you can access. It's all in the eyes - One of the biggest signs of a cheating spouse is to avoid eye contact with you when they are lying about their whereabouts. If you see your other half always displaying fleeting eyes when answering you, it should raise a big "red flag" Remember that you should never confront your husband or wife directly without having hardcore evidence or all you'll end up getting is an aggressive denial. 9 Smart Ways to Cut Marketing Costs And Get Results
By Joyce Oladipo 1. The spray and pray marketing doesnt work. Dont deliver your mass marketing message to everybody you think needs your service. Newspaper or TV commercials are the most expensive type of marketing you can use to deliver your marketing message Youre using media time and space to explain how you can help a person solve his problems. I suggest you use the media to offer your message instead of delivering your message, so when interested prospects call your office, send them your information packet by mail. This allows you to deliver much more information to the person who is interested and gives you the persons name and address to add to your mailing list. 2. Its a waste of money to spend money on colorful brochures. Theyre expensive and, in most cases, not necessary. The only time you need colorful brochure is when youre marketing something colorful, such as art or gemstones. And even then, you can often find alternatives that are less expensive than brochures, such as photographs. If you want a colorful flowers to impress your prospects, your clients or yourself, thats fine. But dont expect it to be a cost effective part of your marketing program. 3. Institutional ads dont work. A lot of people are using institutional ads to market their business without generating measurable results. How do you know if you are making an impression with your ad if you dont know the person whom youve impressed. I urge you to use a method thats traceable a method that generates inquiries from genuine prospects so you can tell what works and what doesnt. 4. Its not easy to use media publicity to gain exposure. Media exposure usually doesnt directly affect your bottom line. To get more value from your publicitys, use it to establish credibility and generate inquiries from qualified prospective clients. 5. Simplify your e-zine. Many small businesses think creating a newsletter is produce multi-page letters that cost a fortune to design, print and mail. Remember, the purpose of an e-zine is to deliver information and reinforce why prospective clients should choose you over othes. A simple educational alert of even one or two tips pages works just fine. Your e-zines size is not nearly as important as how often you mail it and the value of the information you present. 6. People attend seminars because they want information, so dont focus on serving food at seminars. When you advertise that youre serving food, you attract people who want to eat, not listen and food cost money. Ive promoted hundreds of seminars and I assure you that you dont need to feed people to get them to attend. You simply need to offer facts and ideas your prospects want and then market your seminar so prospects understand what theyll learn. 7. Stop outbound telemarketing. Ive never heard anyone say he likes to be solicited by telephone. I urge you to invest in a marketing program that attracts qualified inquiries. Then you wont need outbound telemarketing and you wont create a bad impression on a prospective client. 8. Deliver educational based information. People want information, thats why they surf the Internet, attend seminars and request free information. When you use my method of Education-Based Marketing, you send free information to prospects who request it. This gives them the information they want -- and gives you a mailing list of prospective clients. What could be easier! 9. Hire an independent consultant. If you want to get more for your marketing dollar, avoid the high costs of ad agencies and PR firms, I urge you to look for an independent consultant. Ive found when I hired a private consultant; Im paying for knowledge, skill, accountability and experience not expensive overhead. This is especially true in marketing. Online entrepreneur Joyce O. Should You Try Acupuncture For Arthritis Relief?
By Greg Marsh Acupuncture is an ancient form of healing that was used and still used in many ancient Chinese treatments for various diseases. Will it work for the arthritis pain that you are feeling? Many people have found that arthritis can be improved with the help of this technique. Although there are many that dont believe in it, the benefit that can come from it, is supposed to be well worth the adventure! If you are considering acupuncture for the treatment of the arthritis pain that you have, you do need to realize that arthritis medications and other treatments that your doctor are giving you shouldnt be stopped for it. You should always rely on the help that your doctor can give you as these are the most commonly beneficial to your health and well being. They are also scientifically proven which acupuncture is not. How To Explore Acupuncture If you decide that acupuncture does have something that can help you in it, take the time to find the right person for the job. It is incredibly important for you to find someone to help you that is educated, experienced and works in a clean environment as well. You should not be their first patient and you should be able to ask them any question and get an answer to it. When it comes to acupuncture, you dont want to work with someone that is unsure of which locations are the appropriate locations to puncture for your arthritis pain. Youll find that there are experiences acupuncturists throughout many areas of the United States, especially in large cities. When you call on one, ask them questions about your condition. What will acupuncture do for you? How will it work? What happens during a session? When will you begin to see relief from your arthritis pain? All of these questions, along with your own, should be answered before you actually have the procedure done. This way, you know what to expect and you know what to do to benefit. A skilled acupuncturist will use acupuncture points that are situated around your body to stimulate and improve the movement of Qi in your body. This is the life force, or the element in your body that maintains health and life. When you are ill, the idea is that the Qi is now somehow off balance and simply not effective in keeping you healthy. But, this can be improved with the help of acupuncture. By inserting a needle that is very thin into the right spots on your body, they can help to improve the flow of Qi which will then improve your health condition. As with any type of alternative treatment, you should work with your doctor to determine if you should stop medications with this treatment. Most doctors dont have a working knowledge of alterative treatments because most of them, including acupuncture are unproven. But, with the help of a skilled professional in the field, your arthritic pain can be significantly lessened with acupuncture. An Introduction To Card Making Ideas
By Vicki Churchill If you are interested in crafts in any way then card making is an ideal activity to begin with. There is a huge variety card making techniques and ideas that will help you with your card making ideas. You do not need huge amounts of time and money to get into card making, it can be as simple or as complex as you desire but trust me once you have started you will be hooked. Card making ideas are easy fun and are an excellent way of showing your creative side, they are considered gifts when being given in the form of a card and will always be well received. When I had my first card making idea I started with a few basic tools, often you can use items from your home that are gathering dust. The basic items I would suggest you need to start any card making ideas are the following. Paper or card - paper and card come in a huge variety of forms from handmade paper, vellum, patterned and so many other designs. Paper and card is really the foundation for any card it can be used to mount toppers, add a layering effect it can be used in so many different ways including iris folding, a simple but very effective technique that involves folding strips of colored paper that are layered together in a spiral pattern. Scissors - It is extremely important to have a really good quality pair of scissors, using blunt scissors really can mess up your card making ideas. Metal ruler and craft knife - it is important to always work on a clean surface and a cutting mat is perfect for this as you can also use your craft knife with out having to worry about damaging your table or area of work. Good cutting tools are very important Peel off stickers - peel off stickers can be used in so many ways they are a must for anyone who wants to produce good quality card making ideas. Using a peel off sticker that is the same color as your card can also give an embossed look. Once you become a keep card maker you can always introduce additional supplies and items to your craft box. Remember never to throw anything away that could be used, even your card scraps as these could be used to punch out small punches for embellishments If you are making cards with your children and using an ink pad always make sure that the ink is washable it is surprising how much children would rather ink their hands and faces rather then using it for their card making ideas. Making cards is a wonderful past time that all the family can enjoy sending and receiving home made personal cards will bring you joy and a sense of achievement. Vicki Churchill writes for a site that specializes in Card Making Ideas providing you with excellent tips and ideas for Rubber Stamping and Embossing Powder including where to get find the best bargains Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Vicki_Churchill http://EzineArticles.com/?An-Introduction-To-Card-Making-Ideas&id=541098 buy valium from usa

How Can I Lose Weight Without Starving Myself?
By C Morris Have you ever wondered that too? This is a question that many people ask, yet not many ever find the answer. I have found the answer to this question, and once you hear it you'll wonder why you never discovered it before.
When you eat, your body is actively breaking down the food that you take in. This entire process burns calories. Now, don't think you can eat a bowl of ice cream then sit down and watch tv, waiting for you body to burn it off. There are certain foods out there, though, that contain fewer calories than your body burns by digesting it. You've probably heard about how celery is a zero or negative calorie food. This means that your body burns more calories by digesting it then the food contains. So, effectively, you can eat all the celery that you want. Just stay away from the high calorie dips.
Another online source mentioned how a 25 calorie piece of broccoli requires 80 calories to digest, resulting in a net loss of 55 calories from the body fat. Now that's what I'm talking about! It's just too bad we don't have Negative Calorie Pizza. Just imagine combining a Negative Calorie Diet with a good cardiovascular workout 3 times each week and you'll get some amazing results.
There is one warning, though. Most of these Negative Calorie Foods are fruits and vegetables. Unless you're a strict vegetarian, you may have trouble sticking with this completely. What makes this diet so good is that you can still eat other foods as well, but make the larger part of your meal out of these foods. This will allow you to have a much better time trying to keep to a diet. The main thing is to implement changes slowly and let them become a way of life. After you do this, you should start noticing subtle changes that will help you stay motivated quite easily.
The following is a list of some foods that are part of the Negative Calorie Diet: asparagus, beet, broccoli, green cabbage, carrot, cauliflower, celery root, celery, hot chili peppers, cucumber, dandelion, endive, garden cress, garlic, green beans, zucchini, apple, cranberries, grapefruit, lemon, mango, orange, pineapple, raspberries, strawberries, tangerine, lamb's lettuce, lettuce, onion, papaya, radishes, spinach, and turnips.
This is just a small list of the MANY foods that fall into the category of "Negative Calorie Foods". Just try a few of the items on this list and you'll see how you can easily follow this diet and lose weight. People that are more overweight may even see quicker results, as there body naturally burns more calories than thinner people, while sedentary. Some Great Tips For Saving Money At The Grocery Store
By Gregg Hall The amount you spend on groceries can vary from month to month, unlike a mortgage or car payment. When a budget fails one can often accuse the grocery bill. Clipping coupons and buying generic brands is thought to be good advice, but it is important to know how stores entice you to spend more than what you originally earmarked for the grocery store. Some of these strategies are so subtle that you may have never even considered them before. Look at the following information an see if you can learn to combat the store's selling strategies and win back control of your grocery budget. Smells and Samples: Grocery Stores usually smell delicious. The Bakery, Deli, or Fruit section are often strategically placed near the door. For the grocery store, it is important for consumers to be hungry when they shop. Smells from these sections get the consumers thinking about food and consumers always spend more when they are hungry. Free Samples in the grocery store? Delicious. If it is not a product you would normally purchase, the store just increased the amount of money you were going to spend in the store. An easy way to solve the hunger problem is don't shop when you are hungry. Don't shop right before an upcoming meals, shop after lunch, instead of before dinner. Eat first, or go shopping when are not hungry. Shopping when you are full makes it much easier to resist temptation. Overall Store Layout: Staple food items are located in the rear of almost every store. Consumers have to wander the aisles to locate items like bread and milk. Stores understand that putting staple items together would make shopping easier, but they also know that the longer they can keep you in the store, the more items you will buy. Stores also understand impulse buying, or the purchasing of items that you don't really need on impulse alone. Stores are specifically designed to encourage impulse buying. Sale products are always featured on aisle end caps that even the most frugal customer will have to walk by. There is obviously no way around the fact that you will have to traverse the entire store to get to your staple food items, but you can avoid impulse items by making a list of the grocery items you really need, and committing to sticking to the list before you enter the store. Get in a habit of making one trip to the store per week, instead of several smaller trips. This cuts down the time you are in the store, thus saving money for the bottom line of your grocery budget. The less time in the store, the less money you will spend. Gregg Hall is an author living in Navarre Florida. Journaling Prompts for New Mothers
By Susie Cortright If theres one story my kids love to hear again and again, its the story of their birth. But they are interested in more than the birth statistics. They want to know how I felt. They want to know how much their new presence in the world meant to me. The most meaningful baby albums, scrapbooks, and journals go beyond the details of birth weight and time-of-day to capture the true emotion behind the birth. Here are some questions to help you remember the details whether it was yesterday or years ago. When responding to each of these journaling prompts, dont do so directly on the pages of your scrapbook. Write the answers in a journal or even a piece of scrap paper first, and make sure to keep your pen moving across the page. If you get stuck, write I remember and then write the first thing that comes to mind. Try not to think too hard about what you are writing. Just try to just keep that pen moving and dont cross out anything. Youll edit your journaling later and choose which details to include on your scrapbook pages. The most powerful words and emotions often arent the first to flow from your mind. Sit with these questions and journal your way to poignant memories and the most sentimental of scrapbooks. What do you remember about your surroundings at the time of the birth? What was the temperature like? The lighting? Detail the sights and sounds. What small, specific details can you recall that really bring the memories home? For me, it was the cherry Popsicle the nurse wanted me to eat and my husbands coffee, the smell of which made me so nauseous that my nurse made him take it a trashcan clear down the hallway. What was it for you? What about the process of childbirth did you find surprising? (I know, the answer is everything! but try to find some specifics). Youll notice that the more specific the memories you recall, the more poignant they will be to those who shared the experience with you. Describe the feeling when your baby was first placed in your arms. Think about the experience in terms of a snapshot. Imagine someone had taken a photo, just then. Describe the photo. What one or two details most stick in your mind about the experience? Who were your first visitors? What was your first meal after childbirth? What was it like to feed your baby for the first time? Make a mental snapshot of those first feedings. What are your memories of your spouse or partner? What feelings washed over you when you were together with the baby for the first time? Were there any feelings of fear? If so, why? What advice would you now have for mothers-to-be? Reflect on how you told distant family members about the babys birth. Recall how you felt upon seeing the other members of your family. In what special way did they each bond with the baby? What was the first song you sang to your baby? Tell the story of bringing the baby home from the hospital. What was the first thing you remember doing? Do you remember when you were first all alone with your new baby, in your home? Describe how you felt. What values do you most wish to pass on to your new baby? What dreams do you have for him or her? In what way are you proud of yourself as a new mother? How did the instance of becoming a mother change you? How did your worldview change upon becoming a mother? How did your relationship with your own mother change? Was there a shift in perspective? Using the above questions as a guide, try to open up and go beyond the surface of the moment. Writing about the birth experience will help you tap the true bliss of your babys birth. For many of us, this is the most life-changing moment that we will undergo. Make it last for generations. Susie Cortright is the founder of Momscape.com, where you can find free baby shower ideas. The Resurrection, Modern Day Apostles Series; Article Three
By Rascal Miles The Resurrection Apostles, and the Spirit empowered writers of our New Testament, looked forward to a day that people who had died would return to life. Their hope stemmed from Our Lords own promises and the Old Testament scriptures with which Paul especially, was well versed. After all, they didnt have a New Testament. Most likely, the writers had no clue that their letters to the churches would become a part of The Holy Bible. Many subjects were addressed in early letters to believers based upon writers understanding and the prompting of The Holy Spirit as to what the followers of Jesus needed to know. Yet today, we take encouragement from those inspired writings. Today, as when the Gospels and New Testament letters were written, many believers need reassurance about what is commonly called The Resurrection. Persons who have not yet heard (with understanding) the Good News, need to know too. Because we focus so heavily on the New Testament, many of us lack knowledge of the sacred manuscripts that some, like educated Paul the Apostle, held in such high regard. Lets examine some scriptures upon which Christian buoyancy is based. In so doing, our confidence can be strengthened and our own faith enhanced. As The Book of Job is believed to be the oldest book in the modern Bible, it is a great place to start. We will use the CEV (Contemporary English Version) translation because, although The Bible has not changed, our language has. Translated from Greek and early manuscripts, the CEV version makes it easier for me to understand some scriptures. (CEV) Job 19:23 I wish that my words could be written down 24 or chiseled into rock. 25 I know that my Savior lives, and at the end he will stand on this earth. 26 My flesh may be destroyed, yet from this body I will see God. 27 Yes, I will see him for myself, and I long for that moment. (CEV) Isaiah 26:19 Your people will rise to life! Tell them to leave their graves and celebrate with shouts. You refresh the earth like morning dew; you give life to the dead. (CEV) Ezekiel 37:1 Some time later, I felt the LORD's power take control of me, and his Spirit carried me to a valley full of bones. 2 The LORD showed me all around, and everywhere I looked I saw bones that were dried out. 3 He said, "Ezekiel, son of man, can these bones come back to life?" I replied, "LORD God, only you can answer that." 4 He then told me to say: Dry bones, listen to what the LORD is saying to you, 5 "I, the LORD God, will put breath in you, and once again you will live. 6 I will wrap you with muscles and skin and breathe life into you. Then you will know that I am the LORD." 7 I did what the LORD said, but before I finished speaking, I heard a rattling noise. The bones were coming together! 8 I saw muscles and skin cover the bones, but they had no life in them. 9 The LORD said: Ezekiel, now say to the wind, "The LORD God commands you to blow from every direction and to breathe life into these dead bodies, so they can live again." 10 As soon as I said this, the wind blew among the bodies, and they came back to life! They all stood up, and there were enough to make a large army. 11 The LORD said: Ezekiel, the people of Israel are like dead bones. They complain that they are dried up and that they have no hope for the future. 12 So tell them, "I, the LORD God, promise to open your graves and set you free. I will bring you back to Israel, 13 and when that happens, you will realize that I am the LORD. 14 My Spirit will give you breath, and you will live again. I will bring you home, and you will know that I have kept my promise. I, the LORD, have spoken." (CEV) Daniel 12:1 Michael, the chief of the angels, is the protector of your people, and he will come at a time of terrible suffering, the worst in all of history. And your people who have their names written in The Book will be protected. 2 Many of those who lie dead in the ground will rise from death. Some of them will be given eternal life, and others will receive nothing but eternal shame and disgrace. 3 Everyone who has been wise will shine as bright as the sky above, and everyone who has led others to please God will shine like the stars. Well, we can see why Jews, those familiar with the Old Testament scriptures, had such confidence; Jewish and now Christian believers are assured of a Resurrection. Now lets see what Jesus who claimed to BE the Resurrection said and did. (CEV) John 11:25 Jesus then said, "I am the one who raises the dead to life! Everyone who has faith in me will live, even if they die. (CEV) John 11:1 A man by the name of Lazarus was sick in the village of Bethany. He had two sisters, Mary and Martha. This was the same Mary who later poured perfume on the Lord's head and wiped his feet with her hair. 3 The sisters sent a message to the Lord and told him that his good friend Lazarus was sick. 4 When Jesus heard this, he said, "His sickness won't end in death. It will bring glory to God and his Son." 5 Jesus loved Martha and her sister and brother. 6 But he stayed where he was for two more days. 7 Then he said to his disciples, "Now we will go back to Judea." 8 "Teacher," they said, "the people there want to stone you to death! Why do you want to go back?" 9 Jesus answered, "Aren't there twelve hours in each day? If you walk during the day, you will have light from the sun, and you won't stumble. 10 But if you walk during the night, you will stumble, because you don't have any light." 11 Then he told them, "Our friend Lazarus is asleep, and I am going there to wake him up." 12 They replied, "Lord, if he is asleep, he will get better." 13 Jesus really meant that Lazarus was dead, but they thought he was talking only about sleep. 14 Then Jesus told them plainly, "Lazarus is dead! 15 I am glad that I wasn't there, because now you will have a chance to put your faith in me. Let's go to him." 16 Thomas, whose nickname was "Twin," said to the other disciples, "Come on. Let's go, so we can die with him." 17 When Jesus got to Bethany, he found that Lazarus had already been in the tomb four days. 18 Bethany was only about two miles from Jerusalem, 19 and many people had come from the city to comfort Martha and Mary because their brother had died. 20 When Martha heard that Jesus had arrived, she went out to meet him, but Mary stayed in the house. 21 Martha said to Jesus, "Lord, if you had been here, my brother would not have died. 22 Yet even now I know that God will do anything you ask." 23 Jesus told her, "Your brother will live again!" 24 Martha answered, "I know that he will be raised to life on the last day, when all the dead are raised." 25 Jesus then said, "I am the one who raises the dead to life! Everyone who has faith in me will live, even if they die. 26 And everyone who lives because of faith in me will never really die. Do you believe this?" 27 "Yes, Lord!" she replied. "I believe that you are Christ, the Son of God. You are the one we hoped would come into the world." 28 After Martha said this, she went and privately said to her sister Mary, "The Teacher is here, and he wants to see you." 29 As soon as Mary heard this, she got up and went out to Jesus. 30 He was still outside the village where Martha had gone to meet him. 31 Many people had come to comfort Mary, and when they saw her quickly leave the house, they thought she was going out to the tomb to cry. So they followed her. 32 Mary went to where Jesus was. Then as soon as she saw him, she knelt at his feet and said, "Lord, if you had been here, my brother would not have died." 33 When Jesus saw that Mary and the people with her were crying, he was terribly upset 34 and asked, "Where have you put his body?" They replied, "Lord, come and you will see." 35 Jesus started crying, 36 and the people said, "See how much he loved Lazarus." 37 Some of them said, "He gives sight to the blind. Why couldn't he have kept Lazarus from dying?" 38 Jesus was still terribly upset. So he went to the tomb, which was a cave with a stone rolled against the entrance. 39 Then he told the people to roll the stone away. But Martha said, "Lord, you know that Lazarus has been dead four days, and there will be a bad smell." 40 Jesus replied, "Didn't I tell you that if you had faith, you would see the glory of God?" 41 After the stone had been rolled aside, Jesus looked up toward heaven and prayed, "Father, I thank you for answering my prayer. 42 I know that you always answer my prayers. But I said this, so that the people here would believe that you sent me." 43 When Jesus had finished praying, he shouted, "Lazarus, come out!" 44 The man who had been dead came out. His hands and feet were wrapped with strips of burial cloth, and a cloth covered his face. Jesus then told the people, "Untie him and let him go." 45 Many of the people who had come to visit Mary saw the things that Jesus did, and they put their faith in him. In his first letter to the Corinthians, Paul, whom I have previously suggested is the first Modern Day Apostle, assured believers in Jesus of a Resurrection also. (CEV) 1 Corinthians 15:1 My friends, I want you to remember the message that I preached and that you believed and trusted. 2 You will be saved by this message, if you hold firmly to it. But if you don't, your faith was all for nothing. 3 I told you the most important part of the message exactly as it was told to me. That part is: Christ died for our sins, as the Scriptures say. 4 He was buried, and three days later he was raised to life, as the Scriptures say. 5 Christ appeared to Peter, then to the twelve. 6 After this, he appeared to more than five hundred other followers. Most of them are still alive, but some have died. 7 He also appeared to James, and then to all of the apostles. 8 Finally, he appeared to me, even though I am like someone who was born at the wrong time. 9 I am the least important of all the apostles. In fact, I caused so much trouble for God's church that I don't even deserve to be called an apostle. 10 But God was kind! He made me what I am, and his wonderful kindness wasn't wasted. I worked much harder than any of the other apostles, although it was really God's kindness at work and not me. 11 But it doesn't matter if I preached or if they preached. All of you believed the message just the same. 12 If we preach that Christ was raised from death, how can some of you say that the dead will not be raised to life? 13 If they won't be raised to life, Christ himself wasn't raised to life. 14 And if Christ wasn't raised to life, our message is worthless, and so is your faith. 15 If the dead won't be raised to life, we have told lies about God by saying that he raised Christ to life, when he really did not. 16 So if the dead won't be raised to life, Christ wasn't raised to life. 17 Unless Christ was raised to life, your faith is useless, and you are still living in your sins. 18 And those people who died after putting their faith in him are completely lost. 19 If our hope in Christ is good only for this life, we are worse off than anyone else. 20 But Christ has been raised to life! And he makes us certain that others will also be raised to life. 21 Just as we will die because of Adam, we will be raised to life because of Christ. 22 Adam brought death to all of us, and Christ will bring life to all of us. 23 But we must each wait our turn. Christ was the first to be raised to life, and his people will be raised to life when he returns. 24 Then after Christ has destroyed all powers and forces, the end will come, and he will give the kingdom to God the Father. 25 Christ will rule until he puts all his enemies under his power, 26 and the last enemy he destroys will be death. 27 When the Scriptures say that he will put everything under his power, they don't include God. It was God who put everything under the power of Christ. 28 After everything is under the power of God's Son, he will put himself under the power of God, who put everything under his Son's power. Then God will mean everything to everyone. 29 If the dead are not going to be raised to life, what will people do who are being baptized for them? Why are they being baptized for those dead people? 30 And why do we always risk our lives 31 and face death every day? The pride that I have in you because of Christ Jesus our Lord is what makes me say this. 32 What do you think I gained by fighting wild animals in Ephesus? If the dead are not raised to life, "Let's eat and drink. Tomorrow we die." 33 Don't fool yourselves. Bad friends will destroy you. 34 Be sensible and stop sinning. You should be embarrassed that some people still don't know about God. 35 Some of you have asked, "How will the dead be raised to life? What kind of bodies will they have?" 36 Don't be foolish. A seed must die before it can sprout from the ground. 37 Wheat seeds and all other seeds look different from the sprouts that come up. 38 This is because God gives everything the kind of body he wants it to have. 39 People, animals, birds, and fish are each made of flesh, but none of them are alike. 40 Everything in the heavens has a body, and so does everything on earth. But each one is very different from all the others. 41 The sun isn't like the moon, the moon isn't like the stars, and each star is different. 42 That's how it will be when our bodies are raised to life. These bodies will die, but the bodies that are raised will live forever. 43 These ugly and weak bodies will become beautiful and strong. 44 As surely as there are physical bodies, there are spiritual bodies. And our physical bodies will be changed into spiritual bodies. 45 The first man was named Adam, and the Scriptures tell us that he was a living person. But Jesus, who may be called the last Adam, is a life-giving spirit. 46 We see that the one with a spiritual body did not come first. He came after the one who had a physical body. 47 The first man was made from the dust of the earth, but the second man came from heaven. 48 Everyone on earth has a body like the body of the one who was made from the dust of the earth. And everyone in heaven has a body like the body of the one who came from heaven. 49 Just as we are like the one who was made out of earth, we will be like the one who came from heaven. 50 My friends, I want you to know that our bodies of flesh and blood will decay. This means that they cannot share in God's kingdom, which lasts forever. Yes, my friends, there is a Resurrection. We have every reason to believe that we will again see those who have preceded us to an earlier grave. Thanks to the easily read Contemporary English Version translation of the original, undefiled scriptures, I feel that we can rest securely in our knowledge of The Truth. Lord, help us hold firmly to Your message, sharing our knowledge of You, and Your long-ago recorded scriptural promises, with others who have not yet heard (with understanding) The Good News. Some Common Misconceptions about Marketing
By Paul Docherty Marketing is a subject that's very often misunderstood by many of us who are not directly involved in it. There are many misconceptions around what marketing teams do, especially in relation to the art of selling. There are, however, some key things to understand that can help clear up this confusion considerably and will help in your every day understanding of what marketing and marketeers are actually all about and what they're trying to achieve. 1. Marketing is not sales. Sales is the specific skill or act of closing a deal or brokering a customer's commitment to enter into a deal or make a purchase. The skillset for sales people can be considerably different from that of the marketeer, although a good appreciation of each discipline will help both the seller and the marketeer in their respective roles. 2. Marketing is more about branding and profiling. The marketeer will know how to build a successful brand image and how to raise the profile of a brand within its target market. Brand image is everything in some markets. The marketeer can help create a brand or image that is saleable, allowing a the sales person or team to then trade directly on that image. 3. Marketing is about identifying the requirement. Marketing provides a company with the data it needs to understand what the marketplace needs and therefore what it needs to supply. It's all very well having great product ideas but if there is no marketplace 'pull' for them, they will not sell. Service companies need to know what services their customer sector needs; manufacturers need to know what goods or features their consumers want now and in the future. Just look at the Sinclair C5 from the 1980s - it was a great, simple idea but it ultimately had no market and failed. 4. Marketing is about creating the 'pull'. Creating the 'pull' is about making the market, not the individual customer necessarily, recognise the need for the product or service on offer. Some of the most successful marketeers have been able to create 'customer pull-through' resulting in the creation of a market around a specific perceived requirement. Just look at the all the products that you're told you need to make your life easier. These products were marketed and we, as consumers, recognised a benefit, thus giving the product a market value. Just think: how did you manage without an electric toothbrush!? 5. Marketing is about understanding your target audience. The market for each product and service is invariably different. The marketeer exists to classify the market by demographic, wealth, requirement and any other factor that may be appropriate. The marketeer will analyse the market and provide profiles of potential customers that will allow a company to design its products or services to have the right level of features, functionality, price or quality for that specific market. In the car world, just think about whether the same people are out there looking at buying Audis as well as Protons: it generally doesn't happen. They are both built to different specifications, quality levels and ultimately, price. The respective marketeers have analysed the market and determined what their potential customer base will accept and actively look for. The Advantages of Silk Flowers
By Janna Hagan The silk flower is growing in popularity among young couples and families for many different reasons. Many event hosts or planners struggle over whether to choose fresh flowers or artificial flowers. Silk flowers are non-allergenic, will never wilt and can be maintained as keepsakes for years. There are many more positive effects in ordering or owning silk flowers. 1. Cost Lots of people notice a considerable price range from real flowers to silk flowers. Artificial flowers can usually be found at any craft store and sometimes even your local dollar store. Most flowers range from $1.00 to $6.00 a stem. Keep in mind that some silk flowers can get pricey, but they are usually large, high-quality silk roses. There is a wide range in colors and types of flowers in silk. Some people argue that faux flowers have no scent, thereby losing some of the mood that they want to create at a ceremony. Use of perfumes or artificial scents can help minimize this short fall in compare to cut flowers. With a huge difference in price range, most believe that this difference is not worth the extra cost and time. 2. Durability Silk flowers have an amazing economical value. They will not break or wilt when being handled or manipulated into an arrangement or bouquet. This could become a problem with fresh flowers, as they will wilt and discolor over a relatively short period of time. Artificial flowers can be made ahead of time which allows room to fix mistakes or the odd broken stem. This is also great when large volumes and long timelines for preparation are an issue. Silk flowers have a great shelf life. When your event is over, you can store your silk flowers as a keepsake and rekindle your memories of a good time and a job well done. Silk flowers do have an amazing advantage in this area. 3. Create same feeling/mood Some bride's-to-be or party planners fret about silk flowers looking fake. Some of this depends on the type of flower you chose. Today, silk flowers have looked more realistic than they ever have. Most flowers are easy to replicate and will provide you with a natural looking flower arrangement or bouquet. 4. Allergies Everyone knows that allergies can be a pain. That's why silk flowers are ideal for people with allergies. People with these symptoms can have silk flowers in their home, while still enjoying the wonders of nature. No need to worry about that stuffy nose and runny makeup with silk flowers. Silk flowers are great for any occasion - weddings, birthdays, funerals and home and office decor. Faux flowers are very easy to take care of, inexpensive and create the same positive feeling that fresh, cut flowers would. For on-the-go decorators, silk flowers are perfect for not demanding attention like real flowers. With all these advantages, silk flowers are defiantly an option in any special occasion or event in your life. Holiday 2005 Make Up Tips
By Lynn Starner There are some great new looks out this fall and holiday season. If youre planning on going out, youre probably looking for a new or different look. Ive compiled several of my favorite styles for this season to help you choose the one that will best fit your situation and needs. Focus On The Lips This look is all about your lips. Whether you use a bright jeweled lip color or a matte frost, remember to use a gemstone color. Theyre hot this season. Amethyst, ruby, gold, garnet, plum, etc. are all great colors. Try to use a color a few shades darker than your usual lip color. Dont do much else but add mascara to your top lashes only. This look is complimented by loads of mascara. You can also add a neutral color to the crease of your eyelid. (The crease of the eyelid is becoming a popular style.) Line It Up Do you love eyeliner? Looking for something new and exotic? This is the holiday make up tip for you. Its all about eyeliner. Using a dark eyeliner pencil, lightly trace where you want your liner on both the top and bottom lids. Then take black eyeshadow and mix it with a little hydrosol, water, visine, etc. Using a thin eyeliner brush, dip it in your creamy eyeshadow mixture and trace over the eyeliner pencil line. Keep your line very thin. Youll find its easier to trace over the line than to do it freehand. Now for the fun part. Youll see a space where your top and bottom lashes meet. Place your eyeliner brush there and draw it outwards. Make a curve as you pull it away. Youll get a cat eye look and your line will go from thick to thin. Youll get perfect placement every time. Then add some baby pink blush just to the apples of your cheeks. Using a brush the same size of the apples of your cheeks works best. Smile and place your brush against your apple. Does it look too big, too small or just right? Youll be able to tell when youve got it right. Tap the excess blush off and tap it onto the apples of your cheeks. Its easier if youre smiling while you do this. Dust your brush off on a piece of tissue then gently blend the blush back towards your ear a bit. For your lips, avoid the gloss. Use a matte or a matte frost in the now popular color of pink with tan undertones. The Red Lip Yes, the red lip is back in vogue. And you can wear this awesome look too. Its red and its matte and its gorgeous. You can go two ways with this look. 1. Red matte lips and nothing else. 2. Red matte lips and exotic eyes. For lipstick try a blue-red. Itll make your teeth look whiter compared to an orange or brown red. Berry colors are usually a winning color. For the eyes, youll have a smudgey look using either jewel tones or matte. Remember not to mix them! One or the other. Apply vibrant gold, copper, chestnut or bronze over the entire eyelid and smudge it below the eye. Dont use black, gray or charcoal for this look. Use a rich dark brown eyeliner (no black!) and draw a thin line on the top and bottom lashes and if you like, line inside the eye. Then smudge the eyeliner so its still a visible line, but smudgey. No blush for this look. And there you go! Youve got three of this seasons hottest styles to help you look your very best for all those holiday parties. Look and feel your best this season by not forgetting to take time for yourself this month. A little pampering can help ease the holiday stress.
