Using Online Scrapbooks For Positive Publicity

By Audrey Okaneko Recently ezinearticles.com sent a wonderful thank-you gift to all of their U.S. based authors. They had coffee mugs designed with their name and logo on them and then shipped them out all over the U.S.A. I was so excited to receive my mug. While I dont drink coffee, I drink hot tea daily and have already used the mug for several cups of tea at my desk. Chris Knight, the owner of ezinearticles.com, asked the authors who received mugs to consider sending in a photo of themselves holding their new mug. My photo has already been sent. While Chris has put a few photos of authors in his blog, Im hoping hell also consider creating an online scrapbook of those authors who submit articles to him on a regular basis, holding their new coffee mugs. What a great way for Chris to create positive energy amongst the many authors. I have read many articles from many wonderful authors. I would love a link to their photo in a scrapbook of authors and their mugs. There is not another article directory around with an online scrapbook. How could Chris go wrong with photo after photo of happy authors holding a wonderful gift from Chris himself? And what about the publishers who read and use the articles at ezinearticles.com? What a great opportunity for the publishers to see the authors whose words they use on a daily basis. What if a publisher were to use a photo with an article? Not only would the author benefit but so would ezinearticles.com by having their logo right there next to a well written article. Chris, thank you to you and your entire team for this wonderful gift. I hope youll consider an online scrapbook in 2007. Audrey Okaneko has been scrapbooking for several years. Relationship Advice: Emotional Affair Warning Sign #5 - But I Just Feel So Understood By

By Jeff Herring Emotional affairs take time to build. Each step builds on the ones before. For example, once you have shared intimate emotions and then intimate problems in your relationship with someone else, it is only natural that you will begin to feel understood by this person. If things were just great in your primary relationship, you would not be in this situation in the first place. You believe that this person understands you much more than your spouse Living with another person is just plain messy. The illusion that gets built with this new person is fed in part by the fact that you do not have to live with this person. You dont have to put up with annoying little habits, you might even think these habits are cute. It's easy to feel understood by a sympathetic other when there are problems at home. It is also much easier to understand and sympathize with another person when you are not undertaking the messy task of living with each other. The trap The trap here is equating feeling understood with love. Ive had many people caught in this trap believe this relationship was meant to be based solely on feeling understood. Now do not get me wrong or mishear me here. Feeling understood by another person is a wonderful feeling. It is part of an intimate relationship. Feeling understood by someone else can make us feel alive, supported, accepted, and well, normal. This is part of the seduction of an emotional affair. The new person has not experienced the side of you that has contributed to the problems in your primary relationship. One of the reasons that I encourage my four seasons approach in new relationships is that if you give a new relationship a year (four seasons) before deciding that this is the one, you each have a long enough chance to see each other in the light of the messy reality of living with and seeing a person each day. Ive seen way too many people make life changing decisions based on the illusion of feeling understood. I recommend that you do not tear apart your current life based on the illusions of an emotional affair. Los Angeles DUI Attorneys

By Kent Pinkerton A Los Angeles DUI charge or prosecution can have long term and far reaching effects on your entire life. Though DUI laws may differ, ever so slightly, from state to state, they have been getting tougher, day by day. Los Angeles DUI laws are no different. The law enforcement agencies in Los Angeles are under increasing societal pressure to enforce tougher laws. These tough laws are in fact yielding results, already. The numbers of fatalities arising out of drunk driving are getting reduced. Los Angeles DUI laws like in the case of most other states specify a limit of 0.08 or more, in blood alcohol, if someone is to be charged for a DUI offense. It therefore makes sense, that you know a good Los Angeles DUI attorney, who can help you out, in case you are charged with a DUI offense. A DUI penalty may vary depending on the circumstances. Your license may be suspended for a specified period of time, or worse still, you may loose your license too, in case of harsher penalties. Los Angeles DUI laws require you to compulsorily submit to the law enforcement agencies request for breath tests or blood tests. If you were to refuse, the penalties become harsher. You may even have to face jail time. If you are involved in a DUI accident, which includes children, for instance, you can be put behind bars. It therefore makes sense that you are armed with at least the basics of Los Angeles DUI laws, before you hit the roads. The long term effects of a Los Angeles DUI record may even affect your employment prospects. Insurance companies may also not give you adequate coverage or increase your premiums. A good Los Angeles DUI attorney may be of immense help to you in such situations. A Los Angeles DUI attorney would put up a forceful argument in favor of you protection your legal rights and minimizing your penalties, to a large extent. You may even get to save your license and not count tinkers! With accidents increasing due to the increase in the number of vehicles, it is always better that you know a good Los Angeles DUI attorney. Give A Gift Basket For Memorable Gift

By Christopher Luck What is a quick and easy gift I can give, but still show someone I was thinking about them? As we get older, go through jobs, and make more friends during each year we find ourselves giving out more and more gifts. I know I want my gifts to be cost effective because of the number I give out, but at the same time I want them to mean something to each person specifically. As I looked into it I found that one of the best choices one can make in choosing a gift is simply a custom gift basket. A gift basket can be as expensive or as cheap as you like and be easily personalized to the recipient.
When you are giving out a lot of gifts during the holidays, you dont want to break the bank. The nice thing about giving out gift baskets is that they can be as expensive or inexpensive as you like. To make them cheaper, you can certainly build them yourself. Just pick up a few theme presents, a basket or other holiday container, and some decorations and you have what you need. However, if you dont consider yourself to be the creative type, you can hire a gift basket company to put them together for you. Even by using a service, you will still save money by giving out gift baskets.
Aside from the money savings you get, a gift basket makes a good gift because it can so easily be customized to suit the recipient. Gift baskets are generally an assortment of smaller gifts arranged in a basket. You can make the theme something that fits the recipient. For instance, if you are giving it to a coffee drinker, you can give an assortment of coffees, mugs, and flavorings. If you are giving a basket to a sports lover, you can put trading cards, golf balls, and a video or two in a basket. The other way to personalize the gift basket it to have it fitted with a plate engraved with the recipients name. It is a fairly inexpensive thing to have done, but says a lot in terms of the though behind the gift. Personalization and the thought put into a gift are what make gifts memorable. Many people will remember the thought long after the gift itself is gone, so keep that in mind when putting together your gift baskets.
Trying to figure out what to get a large group of people can be a real challenge during the holiday season. You want each of your friends to know you though of them, but you dont want to spend a ton of money that you just dont have. A great way to do that can be through giving creative and customized gift baskets. They can be as expensive or inexpensive as you want or need them to be. In addition, no matter what amount you spend, you can make the gift basket specific to the recipient so that you will be expressing to each individual that you did think about them. If you would like the latest information on gift basket ideas, or find more of my personal articles like the one you just read, visit my basket site! Illumination of the candles as per the age of the Birthday person and then blowing them out is a fervent ritual traditionally celebrated throughout the country irrespective of age and caste. It is supposed to bring in ones life insurmountable joy along with gratifying ones aspiration. There are some traditions associated with birthday candles. Greeks use to light candles on the birthday cake and take it to Artemis. The candles were supposed to make the cake appear as glowing as the full moon. The Germans are quite well-known for their candle making skills. Some German families put one large candle on the birthday and this symbolizes light of fire. There is a renowned custom associated with the birthday candles. It is believed as well as performed in many countries that the smoke coming out from the candles after being blown out takes the desired wish of the birthday person to heaven. With this conviction in heart, the birthday boy or the birthday girl makes a wish and then wafts out the candles. If all the candles could be blown out with one breath then the wish is thought to come true. Birthday Candles can be of many kinds. Some of the most frequently used ones are Age candles, Party candles and Character Birthday candles. Age candles are very commonly used on birthdays. The candles placed on the birthday cake are equivalent to the age of the honored person. Either the number of candles corresponding to the age of the birthday man is placed on the cake or a numeric candle is placed according to the age. Party Candles add a special glow to the carnival. It is found in different shapes and styles and also goes very well with the theme of the birthday party. Purchase some candles of your kids favorite play characters and decorate the center table or the corners of the room with it. You will see how the room gleams with the sparkling candles. The Musical Birthday candle is ideal to craft that unique birthday cake very remarkable. Network Marketing: The Angry Customer As An Asset

By Donovan Baldwin Why aim this article at network marketers? Because we depend on word of mouth advertising, and an angry customer is an angry advertiser. First of all, I want to make sure you understand that I don't advocate making a customer mad just so you can get some good out of it, or practice what I am going to talk about. In fact, if you have kept all your customers happy, you don't need to worry about it. Just move on to something else. But before you go, let me ask you if you think your customers and potential customers are not angry? Better yet, do you know for sure? One thing is for certain. When we create an angry customer, we don't want to have to assume that customer is lost to us forever. Second, I have written this article using the term "network marketing". In today's web based world, most internet businesses are essentially high-speed, international and can easily use most network marketing models. Hence, most of the guidance in this article will apply to both areas. Even more, most information in this article could apply to almost any business, even the brick-and-mortar sort. WHY DOES YOUR BUSINESS NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THE ANGRY CUSTOMER? Sometimes, we all screw up and wind up with an angry customer. We are going to talk about the results of this and some ways you can turn this into a positive situation, or at least get something positive out of this negative situation. The obvious goal of network marketing is to have happy, satisfied customers because these are the people we rely on to help build our business. In addition to being repeat customers, which means more income for us, satisfied customers are the best advertising tool those of us in network marketing or internet marketing or any other marketing can hope for! If, however, we create an angry customer, not only have we lost this sale and future sales from this one customer, but we may now possibly have a very motivated negative networker marketing against us. Truly, if the heart of network marketing success rests on the passionate word-of-mouth advertising activities of our satisfied customers, just imagine the impact of even a small group of unsatisfied customers as they passionately spread their negative message about your business in particular and network marketing in general. TURNING THE DISSATISFIED CUSTOMER AROUND Things happen, and sometimes they are not positive. Many of these events are simply beyond your control, but the customer will not see it that way. All the customer knows and feels is that you, your business, product, service, or opportunity has failed him or her. You can bet most of them will NOT see this as an accident. Without a doubt, the best first step you can take at this time is to immediately contact the customer, find out what the problem is, or is perceived to be, and assure them that you will make the situation good. There is a small problem here. We don't always know who these people are. COMPLAINING CUSTOMERS ARE VALUABLE TO YOUR BUSINESS, BUT... A study by the Strategic Planning Institute of Cambridge, Pennsylvania, found that the average business NEVER HEARS FROM 96% OF ITS UNHAPPY CUSTOMERS. If something is driving customers away from your network or internet business, you need to know about it! Since dissatisfied customers leave no trace, you must actively strive to create that trace so that you can take steps to change the situation which caused the problem. This will allow you to make more satisfied customers than you would have and will help you prevent negative marketing which may be targeted at your business. You must actively encourage your customers, website visitors, and/or prospects to complain, and you need to provide a means for them to do this. You might provide email links, or response cards for these complaints. You can follow up with ALL customers by email, letter, and phone call or in person to find out what their experiences were. If the were dissatisfied, this last purchase might really be their LAST! Find out if they were satisfied with the services, procedures, personnel, information, or any other aspect of the experience. SAY, "I AM SORRY!" If they had a problem, the first thing you do is say, "I'm sorry!" and mean it. Do not argue, but do show your willingness to find a solution. Get the facts and resolve the issue as rapidly as possible. Assure the customer that you are grateful for their information, and as soon as the problem is resolved, let the customer know. Be honest and straightforward, and do not sugar coat the truth. Studies have shown the speed with which the customer is contacted and the speed with which the issue is resolved has a direct bearing on the chances of retaining the customer and stopping negative repercussions. WHY GO TO THIS TROUBLE TO SAVE THE DISSATISFIED CUSTOMER? The study mentioned earlier which was conducted by the Strategic Planning Institute of Cambridge found two critically important pieces of information:

70% of customers who DO complain WILL do business again with a company which resolves the complaint. 95% of customers who DO complain WILL do business again with a company which resolves the complaint QUICKLY!

You work so hard to find the customers you DO get and keep. Can you imagine the possible boost to the bottom line of your network business or internet marketing business if you could catch that 95% and turn them back into loyal, satisfied customers? RECOMMENDATION Try to find the customers and even potential customers, ask for their negative comments and complaints, and immediately take action to resolve their issues. You may just add a new dimension of growth to your network business or internet business for a relatively small additional cost! You have expended vast amounts of time, effort and money to invite a customer to your store, website, or presentation. That is the hardest and most expensive part of the marketing process for any business. Relatively speaking, turning a dissatisfied customer into a satisfied one is almost without any real additional cost. This one simple strategy, however can increase immediate and future sales and produce some of the most effective word-of-mouth advertising you can have. Quite often the customer who feels that they have been treated well and fairly in a difficult situation will be more likely to sing your praises than the one who had a totally uneventful experience. Low Carb Dieting - The Lifelong Solution to Staying Thin?

By Danna Schneider Low carb dieting has become a popular way to lose weight quickly, and has even become the preferred lifestyle for thousands of health and weight conscious people. The question is, are low carb diets a realistic lifetime regimen, and are they really healthy? Well, here's the general consensus: Hats off to low carb dieters, for they have found the lifelong key to weight maintenance, heart health and peak physical condition. When most people hear the term "low carb diet", they think of fanatical menus of bacon, eggs, cheese and other "zero carb" foods that, prior to the carbohydrate diet revolution, were considered high fat, artery clogging foods. In short, the typical low carb fare was a long list of high fat no-no's up until the low carb revolution, and pastas and breads were hailed as "low to no fat", so people were piling on the carbs in favor of less fat. We've come a long way from this extreme school of thought, with the advent and teaching of a more healthy and balanced low carb dieting lifestyle. This new school of thought does not preach a zero tolerance for sugars and starches, but rather just making smarter choices in carbohydrate consumption, and a higher protein to carbohydrate ratio, with a healthy but moderate dash of unsaturated fat. This new "moderation" method of low carb dieting has proven to be a huge asset for thousands of people suffering from obesity and excess weight. Many have adopted the moderation philosophy into their permanent eating habits and lifestyle with great long term success and permanent weight loss and maintenance. Sure, most of us low carbers will have those moments of weakness, especially around the holidays, and overdo it on the sugars and starches, but it's actually pretty easy to get right back in the swing of things again. As a matter of fact, there are also some effective supplements that actually absorb excess carb intake and help offset any weight gain through times like this. They are usually taken just before or shortly after meals to help eliminate improper storage of fat as well as even out blood sugar, which is on of the primary reasons for weight gain through excess carb intake. Long Term Low Carb Dieting Benefits Benefits of adopting this lifestyle are voluminous. Aside from the obvious weight loss and effective weight management benefits, there are other significant advantages to this type of diet. Here are the top benefits: 1.) Increased muscle tone
2.) Mentally more focused
3.) Less incidence of depression and anxiety
4.) Healthy blood sugar levels = lower risk of diabetes
5.) Healing faster and more efficiently
6.) Get sick less often
7.) Skin, hair and all other external organs grow healthier and more radiant
8.) Eat less - low carb foods are more filling Think about it. Even if this short list of eight benefits was the only reason to adopt low carb dieting as a lifestyle, it would be worth it, right? There are many - maybe even hundreds more benefits to this method of eating. If you want to live longer, be thin for life, and be healthier, this diet is exactly what you've been looking for. Visit Low Carb Diet Pills for more information on the only clinically proven carb cutting pill mentioned in this article - for when you indulge a little too much in carbs. Why Avoiding Conflict Can Kill Sexual Desire

By Nancy Wasson Do you think youre being a good spouse if you stifle your irritation or negative feelings in order to keep the peace in your marriage? And would you be surprised to learn that avoiding conflict can cause you to lose your sexual desire for your mate? Many times, lack of fights, disagreements, arguments, and dissention is strongly connected to lack of passion and desire. Im certainly not advocating open war with no holds barred because that kills passion and desire, also. But the absence of heated arguments is often correlated to the absence of strong sexual feelings. Over the years, I have worked in counseling with numerous spouses who have prided themselves on having a calm marriage with few rifts. Usually by the time they came to see me, it was because the marriage felt empty and without passion. The spouses cared about each other but there was no spark of sexual desire. The spouses felt like siblings or best friends but not lovers. Their relationship was polite, placid, easygoing, routine, and predictably lifeless. Why does the avoidance of conflict negatively impact sexual desire in a relationship? It would seem that always getting along well would mean better sex, but thats not the case at all. Thats because the always getting along well is just on the surface in many cases. When a couple never has heated arguments or disagreements, it usually means that one or the other is burying their real feelings. At least one spouse, and maybe both, is giving in to the other one, either to keep the peace or because its easier than resisting. Usually, one partner routinely gives in to the other the majority of the time in cases like this. That means that the spouse who is committed to keeping the peace at all costs is not fully expressing his (or her) unique individuality. Something is missingthe butting of heads that occurs when two independent strong-willed people live together and have to compromise and reach agreement about things that they disagree on. When a spouse stuffs her (or his) angry, negative feelings in a closet and shuts the door, she may think she has handled things in a helpful way. She has preserved the peace and made marital life smoother for the time being. At the time, she may tell herself that her negative feelings dont matter and that she has done the right thing by avoiding conflict. She has been a good wife. But the anger and negative feelings keep growing larger in the dark closet where they have been stuffed away. Eventually, as more anger and negative feelings are put in the closet, they may push open the door and flood outmost likely in an inappropriate way and at an inappropriate time. It may be something small that is the trigger for the emotional outburst where everything tumbles out into the daylight for all to see. It doesnt take a lot of big incidents for this to happenjust a bit here and there over timefeelings that are never expressed or dealt with so that the person could be a good spouse. By the time the feelings are finally expressed, resentment and anger have accumulated and have already damaged the emotional intimacy in the relationship. The build up of emotional debris from unresolved issues can smother the flames of passion. And anger growing underground can suck the air and life out of a relationship. When a spouse tries to stifle her (or his) angry feelings, the vital life force energy and passion is also stifled. Its not possible to bury negative feelings without also affecting the positive ones. Everything is connected. If anger and resentment are buried, the capacity of the individual to experience desire and passion is also affected. This includes desire and passion for the partner and for life in general. One of the tip-offs is the word should: I should be a good wife and not disagree, I should be a good husband and not rock the boat too much, or I should always try to keep the peace and avoid causing arguments. When you find yourself trying to make yourself do something because you should, there are probably some other opposing feelings that need to be examined and expressed in an appropriate way. The key is to express feelings at the time they first emerge but to do it in an appropriate way that allows you and your spouse to deal with them and resolve them. Then youll avoid the build up of anger and resentment that can sabotage your sexual relationship and kill your sexual desire. Youll also avoid the depression that comes from routinely stifling your feelings and preferences as well as the unplanned explosions that can result later on. The road to great sex starts with satisfying emotional intimacy, and its maintained by expressing feelings appropriately and keeping the channels of communication as clear and debris-free as possible. For that to be possible, feelings have to be acknowledged and dealt with, not buried. Nancy J. Choosing Promotional Products for Business Growth

By Mario S. Churchill Establishing a business is hard enough. Making it known and sell is even harder. Thus, newly formed businesses use promotional products. These are the most effective marketing strategy to put the name of the business in the hands of potential costumers without actually imposing sales. Promotional products provide venues for costumers to develop familiarity to the name so when they see the products they will instantly recognize it because they have seen in before. Established companies also use promotional products to create good relation to their costumers- sometimes to achieve costumer loyalty. If you are planning to create promotional products for whatever purpose, take note of the following tips: Set clear goals for your promotion. Ask yourself: What do I want to achieve? What is my purpose on making promotional products? Is it to boost sales? Is it to build awareness of my services or product? To thank my costumers? Make sure that you set clear goals before starting to invest on promotional products. Set a budget. The cheapest but most effective product should be your aim; where cheapest means that you dont have to spend more than 10% of your expected returns. By knowing your goals and why you should give your promotional product, you will know the items to choose. Stick to your budget. Shop around and select a product that would represent your aim at the cheapest cost. Make sure that you keep track on your expenses especially if the products need additional fees such as shipping, handling, and storage, Do not forget partnership opportunities. Sharing the cost with your suppliers will definitely lessen your investment by as much as 50% without loosing your primary objective. It will also strengthen your relationship with your supplier. In most cases, the only thing you have to do when you venture into this kind of partnership is to include your partner's logo on the items. Choose carefully the products you will give. Most promotional products are limited to specific shelf life. So, avoid buying so much. They would only end up in your stockroom and will soon be thrown away when the new products arrive. Here are some of the more common promotional products used by businesses: Desk accessories These range from paper weights, stationery, pencils, and pens with company's name. Ready to wears From shirts, hats, to jackets with your company's name printed on them; these items will certainly give your name an edge as your business will go wherever your costumers wear them. You will turn your costumers into walking billboards for your business name. Key chains The most effective promotional products are those that can be carried around everyday. One of these is key chains. Well, not to mention they are cheap. Calendars Print important information about your company in every page of the calendar including your phone number and address. Dont forget to include your logo too. Highlight the important dates for your business. Mugs, bags, and tools Consider these promotional products that are commonly preferred by businesses. Place your logo these items and give them to your costumer. Promotional products promise a lot of potentials to whatever business growth you aim for. Remember these tips, use them properly and you will surely convert these potentials into sales. Mario Churchill is a freelance author and has written many articles on various subjects.
